Week 13 - CLR11

CLR11 = 4.5 Hour long ride. What's the route going to be? I missed the last one so I don't want to dictate but I was thinking about the mental challenge of the flat ride toward England. What do you guys think? To throw in a curve-ball, what if we started in Maumelle (Trey or Dyron's house)? I'm thinking about a Maumelle start because that would add enough for us to make a viable fluid stop at the 440 gas station or at the Stone Links clubhouse (not sure what they think about cyclists, but I'm sure they'd be happy to take our money for Gatorade/water). I'm not el presidente, so chime in with other ideas if you don't like that one.

  1. I'm in and I think mentally preparing is as important as physically preparing....so the ride out towards England isn't a bad idea. The only thing about starting in Maumelle for me is on the return trip for this old horse. Once I get back to Cook's landing I'll feel like I'm in the barn, if you know what I mean.

  2. It is 8 miles from my house to Cooks. It could be good mental training for that last 8 of the 112 (overcoming that "barn" feeling). That said, I'm down for whatever. I always believe the England route is the best mental and physical prep.

  3. All this talk of being old is depressing me. I prefer Cook's just so I dont have to drive further in the morning. (because I have a hard enough time waking up). That being said, if Maumelle is the spot, then I will be there.

Sounds like someone just needs to lay the law down on this one.

"is that what the mustache is for?"

  5. Hey Gramps, I'm just glad you are finally showing up to a long ride.

Did you and Trey get a AARP discount for the race?

  6. See you guys at Cooks Landing at 0555! Bring your running shoes! If I don't do my recovery run immediately following the ride, it won't happen at all.
